FAQs

Can I wear my latex swimsuit in chlorine pools or the ocean, and what is the biggest risk?

Short-term use is generally fine, but degradation is the risk. Latex can withstand short-term exposure to chlorine (pools) or salt (ocean). The biggest risk is UV damage from the sun while wearing it and chemical degradation if chlorine/salt residue is not removed immediately. Always choose a UV-protective latex polish (like beGLOSS Perfect Shine Daylight SPF) if swimming outdoors.

What is the most important step immediately after swimming in latex?

Rinse and Wash Immediately. Do not allow chlorine, salt, or body oils to dry on the latex. As soon as you exit the water, rinse the suit thoroughly with clean, cool, fresh water. Hand wash it immediately with a mild, latex-safe detergent to remove all chemical residues, then air-dry in the shade.

What kind of sunscreens or lotions should I use when wearing latex swimwear outdoors?

Only use water-based or dedicated latex-safe formulas. Oil-based sunscreens, lotions, and body oils will cause irreversible, permanent damage and staining to the latex, causing it to break down rapidly. Stick strictly to water-based spray sunscreens or those specifically marked as latex-safe.

How should I put on a very tight, wet-look latex swimsuit, especially a one-piece?

Use silicone dressing aid (lube) generously. Due to the high friction over the hips and shoulders, a generous amount of silicone lube is mandatory. Apply the lube to the inside of the suit and your body, then slowly roll the garment up, using gloved hands to position it to prevent tearing by fingernails.
