FAQs
Which areas of the dress require the most dressing aid when putting it on?
The bust, hips, and zipper line. The dress must stretch significantly over the curves of the bust and hips. Apply a generous amount of silicone dressing aid (lube) to the interior of the dress, concentrating on the bra line, the hip area, and along the fabric edges near any zipper, to prevent tearing.
How can I prevent my fingernails from tearing the delicate latex when pulling the dress up or adjusting the neckline?
Always wear dressing gloves. Fingernails are the biggest cause of punctures and small tears, especially around the neckline and zipper areas. Wear soft cotton or specialized nylon dressing gloves when handling the dress to shield the delicate rubber from accidental punctures and distribute the pulling force.
What special care is needed for the zipper on a latex dress?
Regular silicone oil application. Zippers on latex garments are under high tension and require maintenance. Apply a small amount of silicone oil (not dressing lube) directly to the zipper teeth regularly to ensure smooth operation and prevent the fabric from tearing due to a stuck slider.
What is the best way to store a latex dress (especially one with shoulder straps or a full skirt) to prevent damage?
Hang using a padded or wooden hanger. Never fold the dress. Use a wide, padded, or wooden hanger to support the shoulders or straps fully and hang the dress straight. Store it immediately inside an opaque garment bag away from light, heat, and metal.
